Artsy Coffee: work by MarketinCrew
Artsy Coffee
Artsy Coffee is a cafe and gallery space in the heart of Montmartre, Paris. The walls are hung with work by emerging artists and the room doubles as a venue for exhibitions, workshops and bookings. The brand also runs under the name Atelier 54.
- 01How they came inA cafe that was really a gallery, with no website that said so. Everything lived on Instagram and word of mouth in the neighbourhood.
- 02What we took onA one page site that runs on black with a warm orange accent, plus a social set shot in the room itself. The line we built it around, come for the coffee stay for the art, sits at the top and again at the bottom.
- 03How it runsThe page is ordered the way a visit goes: the space, the current and past exhibitions, the featured artist, then events, workshops and bookings, and finally an open call for artists who want wall space.
- 04Where it standsThe site and the social set share one language, grainy black and white photography of the room with heavy uppercase type over it, so the feed and the page do not look like two different places.

Asked about this work
What is the site trying to do?
Two things. Bring people in for coffee, and bring artists in to exhibit. The open call sits at the bottom of the page and repeats through the social set.
Why black and white photography?
The art on the walls carries the colour. Keeping the room shots monochrome stops the two competing and makes the feed read as one thing.
Is Atelier 54 the same place?
It is the same brand family and the same address in Montmartre. Some of the artwork here is branded Atelier 54 rather than Artsy Coffee.

Social media design
Photographs of the actual room, grain left in, treated black and white with big uppercase type across them. The recurring ask is simple: if you make work and want it seen, the walls are open.
