Edelweiss
Edelweiss Gallagher is an insurance broking business. For World MSME Day they wanted to mark what small businesses in India had come through rather than run a corporate message, so we shot a film with the founder of Chai Pe Charcha.
01How they came inA financial brand with a date in the calendar, World MSME Day, and no wish to mark it with a logo and a greeting.
02What we took onOne film, shot documentary style with a real small business owner instead of a client story read to camera.
03How it runsShot across Mumbai, from the street to the kitchen to the counter. Aerials place the city, the interviews carry the story, and the on-screen text stays minimal.
04Where it standsDelivered as a campaign film. The subject carries it, which is why the brand mark sits in the corner and stays there.
The work
Campaigns and posters
Frames from the film. Aerials over Mumbai to set the scale, then close work with the Chai Pe Charcha founder at the stall and in the kitchen.
“We shot it as a documentary, not an ad. That was the whole decision.”

Questions
Asked about this work
Why a small business owner and not the brand?
Because the day is about MSMEs. A film about the broker on MSME Day would have been about the wrong person.
Where was it shot?
Mumbai, on location.
What was the deliverable?
A single campaign film, cut for social and web use.
