The client

Lykkein

Lykkein is a fashion and lifestyle brand that lives on Instagram at lykkeinofficial. The feed is outfit led, shot on location rather than on a rail, and mixes styled portraits with product tiles and giveaways.

  1. 01How they came inAn outfit brand has to look like a person, not a catalogue. The feed needed to hold styled portraits, product tiles and campaign posts without turning into three separate accounts.
  2. 02What we took onThe photography and the campaign design. Eleven photographs and two campaign pieces, plus two behind the scenes clips from the shoot days.
  3. 03How it runsPortraits are shot wherever the outfit belongs. Against a sunlit wall, on a pavement, at a hillside gate, on a street crossing. Product tiles pull one item close, an earring or a top, with a soft script over it. Giveaway posts use the same type so a campaign never looks bolted on.
  4. 04Where it standsEleven photographs and two campaign pieces are shown here, including the grid mockup that shows how the feed reads as a whole.

Campaigns and posters

Giveaway and collection posts built on the same type and palette as the feed, with a grid mockup that shows how the whole account reads before a post goes out.

An outfit brand is bought from a person, not from a rail. So the shot has to have somewhere to stand.

Questions

Asked about this work

What does the Lykkein work cover?

Photography and campaign design for the Instagram account at lykkeinofficial, including giveaway posts and collection tiles.

Are the shoots on location?

Yes. Portraits are shot in real places rather than against a studio backdrop, which is what keeps the feed reading as a person rather than a catalogue.

How do the campaign posts fit the feed?

They use the same type and colour as the everyday posts, so a giveaway or a collection announcement sits in the grid instead of interrupting it.
