Captain’s Brew: work by MarketinCrew
Captain’s Brew
Captain's Brew is a brewpub that runs an aviation theme all the way through, from the winged mark on the beer glass to a drinks list it calls the Inflight Bar Menu. Our work here is the photography and the menu artwork that carry that idea. The pictures cover the house brews, the shared plates and the room itself.
- 01How they came inThe theme was already built into the room and printed on the glassware. What was missing was a set of pictures good enough to show it, so the shoot came before anything else.
- 02What we took onPhotography across three subjects, the beers, the food and the interiors, plus the artwork for the Inflight Bar Menu and the single malt and gin lists that sit inside it.
- 03How it runsShooting in batches keeps three different kinds of frame in the bank at all times, so the feed never has to repeat the same beer at the same angle two weeks running.
- 04Where it standsSix of the venue's own photographs and two menu and campaign pieces are on this page.
Campaigns and posters
The Inflight Bar Menu, written and laid out as an aviation story rather than a price list, with the single malt and gin sections running by region and the sign off line, fly with the flow.
“Welcome aboard and let the aviation adventure unfold in every glass.”

Photography
Beer flights and shared plates shot on the table, plus wide frames of the room with its coffered wood ceiling and the light installation overhead. Warm, low light, no studio look.
Inside the project
Thane's newest brewery and restaurant, Captain's Brew, faced a common challenge: attracting customers in a crowded marketplace. Partnering with our agency, Captain's Brew embarked on a comprehensive marketing transformation.
Asked about this work
What did MarketinCrew actually do for Captain's Brew?
Photography of the drinks, food and interiors, and the design of the drinks menu. That output then feeds the social calendar.
Are these the brand's own photographs?
Yes. All six frames on this page were shot at the venue rather than licensed.
Can you shoot food and interiors in the same session?
Usually, yes. We plan the plates around the light so the room and the food are covered on one visit rather than two.
